ESA's European Retrievable Carrier spacecraft was deployed into its proper orbit after several problems were resolved. Deployment of another primary payload, the NASA/Italian Tethered Satellite System, was not successful due to a jammed tether line. The satellite was returned to Earth. The mission was extended one day to complete scientific objectives.!
